What makes Aion different
Most assistant apps only know the current chat. Aion is built around memory.
- Remembers details over time across conversations
- Recaps what you discussed days or weeks ago
- Tracks changes in your life and work
- Keeps different profiles completely separate
- Shows where memories came from and when they were learned
What Aion can do
- Remember personal context over time
- Answer timeline and recap questions
- Check Gmail and help draft replies
- Read and update calendar events
- Manage reminders and timers
- Work with images, PDFs, and documents
- Voice input and dictation
- YouTube video search and review
- Use your own AI provider key (Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic)
Bring your own AI key
Aion's main mode is BYOK: Bring Your Own Key. You connect your own provider key, and Aion uses that provider directly from your device. No proxy, no middleman.
Private by design
Aion stores its memory, profile data, and history on your device. When cloud mode is active, only the requests needed for features you use are sent to your chosen provider. There is no required Aion backend.
Optional local runtime
For users who want a more on-device setup, Aion includes an optional local model tier. Local mode is narrower and more experimental than BYOK cloud mode, and performance depends on your device.
Beta note
Aion is in active beta. The core memory system is real and already usable, but some features are still being polished. Your feedback during the beta directly shapes the product.
